The Punjab government has decided to build an Imperial College London campus in Nawaz Sharif IT City.
As per details, A special meeting was held under the chairmanship of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Saturday in which it was decided that Imperial College London campus will be built in Nawaz Sharif IT City, the foundation stone of the local campus of Imperial College London will be laid in November, and a 300-bed state-of-the-art hospital will also be built in the campus.
The special meeting also reviewed the progress on the Central Business District Project, Ravi Urban Development Authority, and Nawaz Sharif IT City, and a two-year target was set for the completion of Roda Dam’s phase 1.
The Chief Minister was given a detailed briefing on CBD, Roda, and NSIT and was informed that the construction of the Roda Dam will protect Lahore from the floods of the Ravi River.
Companies from China and Turkey have expressed interest in the Entertainment City. DOF Robotics and U Band have expressed interest in the Player Theme Park, and an 80-seat flying theater will also be built in the Entertainment City.
The briefing further informed that various institutions have expressed interest in Silicon City, University Block, ASTRA Block, and Film City. The construction of the IT tower in Nawaz Sharif IT City is 78 percent complete. Ravi City will be Pakistan’s first completely green city.
The Chief Minister emphasized the need for early completion of the Future Project. She also sought a viable business plan for Roda Dam.
