The price of gold in Pakistan has reached a new all-time high, as 24-karat gold increased by Rs14,100 per tola, bringing the new price to Rs456,900, as reported by national media.
This increase in gold prices was recorded at a record level in a single day, surprising both citizens and investors.
According to the All Pakistan Sarafa and Jewellers Association, 10 grams of 24-karat gold is being sold at Rs391,718 after an increase of Rs12,089, while 10 grams of 22-karat gold rose by Rs11,082 to reach Rs359,087.
A significant rise has also been observed in silver prices, where 24-karat silver increased by Rs167 per tola to reach Rs5,504, and 10 grams of silver is available at Rs4,718.
The trend of rising gold prices is also continuing in the international market. In the global market, the price of gold per ounce rose by $141 to reach $4,358, which reflects growing investor interest and economic uncertainty worldwide.
According to experts, due to the increase in the value of the dollar and uncertainty regarding interest rates, investors have once again chosen gold as a safe investment.
Economic experts say that if this trend continues, gold in Pakistan could soon cross the psychological limit of Rs500,000 per tola, which would have an impact on both the jewelry industry and general consumers.
