Renowned Pakistani actor Syed Jibran has revealed that many actors and actresses in the entertainment industry are resorting to “Ozempic” and other weight-loss injections to look slimmer and more attractive — a trend he warns is neither healthy nor beneficial.
Speaking on News 365, Jibran discussed various aspects of his personal life, career, and the changing culture of showbiz.
He shared that his parents hailed from Mardan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, though most of his upbringing took place in Rawalpindi, where his father worked. “My parents speak Pashto, but since I grew up in Rawalpindi and later moved to Karachi, I mostly speak Urdu — except when visiting Mardan,” he said.
The actor, who originally studied medicine, revealed that he became an actor by chance after betting Rs100 with a friend that he could appear on television. “I completed my medical studies but didn’t practice. I don’t call myself a doctor, but I understand health issues,” he said with a smile.
Jibran added that his medical background often proves useful on set.
“If someone faints or has a problem during shooting, I can quickly assess the situation — while others panic,” he said, adding that he has even administered IV drips to fellow actors on occasion, though he declined to name anyone.
Recalling his student days, Jibran shared that he used mustard oil on his hair for five consecutive years, a habit that helped him maintain thick and healthy hair. “Many actors today rely on hair transplants or artificial hair, but thankfully, I never had to,” he remarked.
On the topic of beauty standards in showbiz, Jibran commented that numerous celebrities now undergo cosmetic treatments, surgeries, and use slimming injections. Without naming anyone, he cautioned,
“Those taking ‘Ozempic’ or similar thinner injections should know they’re not as beneficial or safe as they think.”
