Punjab is on the cusp of a major transformation in higher education, with four prestigious UK universities, the University of London, Brunel University, the University of Gloucestershire, and the University of Leicester, set to open branch campuses in the province.
Part of Punjab’s broader vision to become a regional center for world-class education, this initiative will give local students access to globally recognized degrees right at home, eliminating the need to study abroad.
In addition to the UK universities, a leading institution from Kazakhstan and the newly announced Korean University campus in Lahore will also be established.
The South Korean government will further support the initiative by setting up a free language learning center to encourage cross-cultural engagement.
To support these developments, the Punjab government has designated land within Knowledge City and will soon issue Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to facilitate smooth establishment and operation. Officials highlight that these new campuses will bring international curricula, state-of-the-art facilities, and enhanced career prospects for students across the province.
