The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police have arrested five accused on charges of gang-raping a married woman in Khula Butt Township of Haripur district in Hazara.
According to Khula Butt Township police, the victim is an Afghan national and the initial medical report has confirmed the incident of rape.
According to police, 21-year-old Afghan refugee Shakeela Ahmadi, who has a valid visa, said that her husband is abroad and she lives in a rented house in Sector 3 of Khula Butt Township’s new settlement.
Khula Butt Township SHO Inspector Siddique Shah, quoting the statement of the victim, said that she was on her way to meet relatives in Camp No. 16 (Afghan Camp) on Thursday evening (September 11) when suddenly a young man overpowered her and took her to a corn field, where he told his name as Bacha and forcibly raped her.
The woman further said that when she was preparing to leave, four more accomplices of the accused also arrived and forcibly raped her in turn. She further said that when she resisted, one of the accused slapped and punched the her, which caused injuries to her face and lips.

The victim has identified all five accused as Nadi, Rozi, Khan Sher, Javed and Naseer. All of the the accused are also Afghan refugees.
According to SHO Siddique Shah, the initial medical report prepared at the Trauma Center Haripur has confirmed the rape incident, while the detailed forensic report will be received later.
He said that the accused have been taken into the custody and a case has been registered under Section 375A of the Pakistan Penal Code.
According to the SHO, the accused will be presented in the court of the Area Magistrate for physical remand on (Saturday) September 13.
