The monsoon system affecting Sindh has transformed into a deep depression. The Meteorological Department says that this rain system will cause heavy rainfall in Karachi, with multiple spells of rain possible.
The Meteorological Department, while warning, said that today the system, passing near Karachi, may bring more than 100 millimeters of rain. There can be 4 to 6 spells of rain.
Spokesperson of the Meteorological Department, Anjum Nazir, stated that today in Karachi, there will be 4 to 6 spells of rain, with chances of heavy to very heavy rainfall. He also expressed concern about the possibility of urban flooding in the city due to heavy rain.
He stated that it is unusual that in the month of September, a depression or deep depression is entering Sindh from India, and its path is also quite complex.
It is worth mentioning that yesterday, throughout the day, intermittent light and heavy rainfall continued in the city, while the Malir River, which usually remains dry all year, also experienced a flood-like situation.
