After India released water into the rivers, there is a flood situation in the Chenab River, and the district administration carried out a small blast near Head Qadirabad in Punjab to create a breach.
According to details, based on new information provided by the Indian High Commission to Pakistan regarding the flood, the Indus Water Commission has issued flood alerts at various points on the Chenab and Ravi rivers.
DG PDMA Irfan Ali Kathia, while speaking to the media, said that after 38 years, such a large amount of water has come into the rivers; tonight, a major flood wave has passed through Shahdara.
Irfan Ali Kathia said that after 1988, such a large quantity of water has come into the Ravi River. He appealed to the people present on the banks of the Ravi to vacate the areas, as a major flood wave will pass through the Ravi River in the next two to three days.
Tonight, a major flood wave will pass through Shahdara, between 10 and 12 pm. This will certainly be a challenge, but all measures have been completed, and it is hoped that there will be no loss of life.
DG PDMA said that due to timely measures in Punjab, there has been no loss of life from the flood. Until the flood passes through Rahim Yar Khan, it will remain a challenge for Punjab, but there is no fear of structural damage from the flood.
