In the coastal city of Gwadar, Balochistan, 9 people were killed as a result of a horrific collision between vehicles, as reported by national media on Friday.
Rescue officials stated in their statement that near Othal, a coach and two pickup trucks collided with each other. In the traffic accident, 9 people were killed and 2 were injured.
They reported that due to overspeeding, the accident occurred at the Faqira stop. The injured and the bodies were transferred to Othal and Bela Civil Hospitals. Among the deceased was also a police officer.
Rescue officials said that the passenger coach was traveling from Quetta to Karachi, while the pickup trucks were going to Khuzdar.
It is worth noting that in previous accidents between passenger coaches and other vehicles, precious lives were also lost, with overspeeding and negligence being cited as the causes.
Horrific accidents on various highways of the country take the lives of dozens of citizens daily, and there is no one to look after those who are injured as a result.
Officials believe that strict enforcement of traffic laws and compliance with these laws by the public is the only way to control accidents.
