Moonis Alvi, the CEO of K-Electric, has reacted to the decision of the Sindh Ombudsman against him, calling it a painful but legal process.

He said that he respects the decision but does not agree with its details. According to him, he has always adhered to the principles of honesty, transparency, and a safe and dignified environment in his professional life, so this decision is a shock not only to his professional dignity but also to his status.

Alvi added that he is carefully reviewing the decision in conjunction with his legal advisors and that he will soon exercise his right to appeal.

He said that everyone who considers himself a victim of injustice has the right to speak out and be heard and he is determined to bring the truth to light within the framework of the law.

His stance has come across as a cautious but confident defense, in which he is not only defending his position but also presenting his character.

It should be noted that the Sindh Provincial Ombudsman has found K-Electric CEO Moonis Alvi guilty in a sexual harassment case.

Provincial Ombudsman Chief Justice (retd) Shah Nawaz Tariq has sentenced the CEO of K-Electric to dismissal and a fine on the request of Mehreen Zahra, former Chief Marketing Officer of K-Electric.

As a result of the investigation conducted after the complaint filed by Mehreen Zahra, a female employee of K-Electric, an order has been issued to remove Moonis Alvi from her post. The Ombudsman has also imposed a fine of Rs 2.5 million on him, which has to be paid within a month.

According to the decision, if she does not pay the fine, his movable and immovable properties can be confiscated, and his identity card and passport can also be blocked. The verdict also states that Alvi harassed the complainant and caused him mental torture.
