The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has released its latest Quality of Service Report for the first quarter of 2025, which presents a detailed review of the internet download speed of mobile networks in 15 major cities of the country.
In this survey, considering only the download speed, two companies, Jazz and Zong, have clearly been declared the best, leaving other networks behind.
In the tests conducted under the automated system, Jazz performed outstandingly and achieved the fastest internet download speed in 11 out of 15 cities.
In particular, Jazz recorded a speed of 39.06 Mbps in Chamkani, Peshawar, 32.32 Mbps in Hala, and 25.01 Mbps in Rahim Yar Khan.
On the other hand, when internet speeds were measured using third-party mobile applications, which usually better represent the real-world user experience, Zong emerged as the leader in 10 cities.
Notable locations included Zong’s speeds of 40.36 Mbps in Dina Town, 36.27 Mbps in Kasur, 39.59 Mbps in Rahim Yar Khan, and 29.14 Mbps in Chamkani.
Overall, both Jazz and Zong competed with each other to hold the top two positions. On the other hand, Ufone and Telenor lagged significantly behind. Ufone was ranked third or fourth in most cities, while Telenor was ranked last in almost all cities.
If download speed is the most important thing for users, Jazz proved to be the best network under the automated system, while Zong emerged as the leader according to the results of the applications used in practice.
Both companies are performing significantly better than Ufone and Telenor and can be considered the top companies in Pakistan in terms of download speed.
