Actress and model Humaira Asghar, who was found dead in an apartment in Karachi’s Defence Phase 6 area, has been handed over to her family. After receiving her body, the family departed for Lahore with the deceased.
Speaking to the media, the actress’s brother stated that he had last been in contact with Humaira about 10 months ago. He explained that due to the death of a close relative, he was unable to reach Karachi immediately, which caused a delay in collecting the body.
He added that they were in constant contact with the police, and all legal procedures were completed. The family has stated that Humaira will be buried in Lahore.
Meanwhile, police officials said the investigation is ongoing, and multiple aspects are being considered to determine the cause of death. Individuals identified in the Call Detail Record (CDR), including a cab driver and others, will also be interrogated.
A report states, citing investigative sources, that the actress’s mobile phone records have been obtained and that all individuals she last contacted are being questioned.
It is worth mentioning that Humaira Asghar’s body was discovered on July 8 in a flat in Ittehad Commercial when a court bailiff arrived at the apartment following a court order obtained by the landlord over unpaid rent. When there was no response from inside, the door was forcibly opened, and the actress’s decomposed body was found.
Due to the advanced decomposition of the body, the postmortem could not reveal much information. Fellow artists and other figures in the entertainment industry have expressed deep sorrow over Humaira Asghar Ali’s death, calling it a wake-up call for the artist community. Some believe the actress passed away 6 months ago, while others estimate it was around 9 months.
