Kokan Sahara Karachi, a community service organization, has been actively contributing to the welfare of its community across various domains collectively. Currently, Kokan Sahara is organizing cricket tournaments for the youth of the Kokan community in different areas of Karachi on weekends. This initiative aims to encourage positive and constructive activities, ensuring the community’s youth remain physically active and fit through sports.
Established in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, Kokan Sahara was created with the mission of serving the needs of the community, particularly the underprivileged.
Leaders of Kokan Sahara believe that the youth cricket tournament organized by their organization serves the purpose of fostering a positive competitive spirit among the community’s youth. It provides them with a platform to stay fit and active while enhancing their leadership qualities. Sixteen teams from the Kokan community, residing in various areas of Karachi, are participating in the tournament.
The uniqueness of this tournament lies in its organization by Kokan Sahara in collaboration with the youth from the Kokan community, aiming to instill leadership qualities in the younger generation. The tournament, now in its fourth consecutive year, takes place on weekends when individuals are free from work and educational commitments. Matches are held between the youth teams of the community during these weekends.
The organizers are committed to the continuous success of the tournament and express their dedication to identifying and refining the skills of talented youngsters who can be introduced at the national level.
Participants in the tournament have expressed their appreciation for Kokan Sahara’s initiative, acknowledging that organizing such activities is a blessing for the youth, and similar endeavors should be encouraged everywhere.
