LAHORE: Senior PTI leader and former Health Minister of Punjab Dr Yasmin Rashid has alleged that Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah was not only hindering the fair investigation into the November 3 assassination attempt on PTI chief Imran Khan in Wazirabad, but is doing everything he can to get Imran Khan killed.

Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, Dr Yasmin Rashid further alleged that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Rana Sanaullah, and ‘Dirty Harry’ were not letting the investigation proceed and attempted to rubbish the evidence of the attack.

“The federal government is involved in the attack”, she said, adding that ploys were being concocted to murder the [country’s] most popular leader. She further said that Rana Sanaullah was a killer and his mind revolved around killing.

She said that the federal government had superimposed its own investigation committee by removing the JIT constituted by PTI’s punjab government, and that evidences already recorded about the incident were now being covered up as part of a criminal activity.

She said they objected to the new Joint Investigation Team (JIT) constituted by the federal government to probe the attack as it included four members who had derailed the case. “Why did the federal government intervene if Punjab interim government had formed a JIT already”, she questioned.

Dr Yasmin Rashid said that a petition will be filed against the new JIT on Monday.
