LAHORE: A contempt of court petition has been filed in the Lahore Court (LHC) against IG Punjab and IG Islamabad for not producing PTI leader Fawad Chaudhary in the LHC despite the court orders.

According to details made available with MM News, Advocate Azhar Siddique filed the contempt plea on behalf of Fawad Chaudhary’s relative Nabeel Shehzad, taking grounds that the LHC ordered some three three times to present former federal minister Fawad Chaudhary before court but Islamabad police did not present him.

The petitioner prayed the LHC to initiate contempt of court proceedings against the concerned officials.
IG Punjab and IG Islamabad, as well as some 16 other officials have been made respondents in the petition.

Earlier, the Lahore High Court (LHC) summoned the inspector generals of Islamabad and Punjab police today at 6 pm after the authorities failed to produce Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Fawad Chaudhry before the court.
