ISLAMABAD: The PTI Members of National Assembly, who had announced to withdraw their resignations earlier today, staged dharna (sit-in) before the Parliament House after being denied permission to proceed to Speaker House.

Senior PTI leader Asad Umar had announced Monday morning that the remaining 44 PTI MNAs would withdraw their resignations and would subsequently go into proceedings to get their leader appointed as opposition leader in NA. He further said that the same decision had already been emailed to the Speaker.

Following the announcement, PTI MNAs led by Amir Dogar proceeded to the Parliament House where they came to know that the vicinity had been shutdown for three days citing a ‘short-circuit’.

After coming to know about ‘the problem’, PTI MNAs decided to move to Speaker House to appear in person and withdraw their resignations. However, local Police SP restrained them from proceeding towards Speaker House, saying he had no such permission from high ups.

Reacting to the police restriction, PTI MNAs gathered in front of the Parliament House and staged sit-in, which continued till the filing of this report.
