A group of such courageous and highly educated women recently organized an exhibition in Karachi with the name of “Pop Shop”, in which women were all and all. Homemade items, beautiful handicrafts, jewelry, leathercraft, home textiles, skin care products, etc. were on display, which attracted a lot of interest from the participants of the exhibition.
The organizers of the exhibition told MM News that the aim of the exhibition is to encourage and facilitate women’s cottage industry and home-based business for women. The organizers said that their aim is also to encourage and guide women in the field of business so that they can meet their financial needs by earning decently at home.
MM News spoke to the women who participated in the exhibition and wanted to know about their entrepreneurial journey. A woman said that starting her own business was not at all easy for her as a woman. “In our society, from home to the market, there are many difficulties for women everywhere in this regard” she said and added that she started her business in 2016 and today she is a successful business woman.
Another business woman who participated in the exhibition said “other women are also getting courage after seeing our work. Now men also come to us with their wives’ handicrafts, which is a good development in terms of women’s participation in business and economy.”
A brave young woman who is associated with online business said that firstly it was a bit difficult to start the work, secondly gaining the trust of customers is a major challenge, which we also faced, but Participating in such exhibitions increased our introduction and contact with people and today God thanks “we are standing at a stable position”.
A woman participating in the exhibition said that such exhibitions are important for encouraging women and urged that women should be provide opportunities as whenever women get opportunities, they use their skills with great success.
