A dance event, termed ‘unethical and immoral’ by social media users, was unexpectedly arranged for the students of NCS University, an institute that is affiliated with Khyber Medical University (KMU), Peshawar.
Since morning there is a debate on social media that who is responsible for the latest fiasco that happened in an educational institute that too in Peshawar, a city where such acts are considered highly inappropriate.

The video of the female singer, dancing boldly in objectionable clothing at a skill festival went viral on social media.
Most of the people blamed the KMU as NCS University is affiliated with it.
KMU’s stance on the matter
The Khyber Medical University (KMU) today took notice of an objectionable dance video and stated, :”onducting such activities with the logo and name of KMU on the stage is quite objectionable,” said a KMU notice that had been issued to the private university.
“All educational institutions are bound to maintain ethical and moral standards and sanctity of the institute during all curricular and co-curricular activities,” it added.
The KMU notice also asked the management of the private university to explain their position within three days.
“Otherwise, strict disciplinary action will be initiated against your institute which can also result in de-affiliation of your institute,” it warned.
Who is to blame?
As per different sources, it is being claimed that it was the idea of students who arranged such activity without the concerned department of the university being informed nor did the department monitor the activity.

In 2005, a draft of a law prohibiting dance in public places by women especially was tabled. Under the law, any woman found guilty of an offense should be punished with a fine. If a woman, having been convicted under the law, repeats the offense, she would be punished with simple imprisonment of up to one month or a fine.
