ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court has adjourned the hearing of Special Advisor to the PM on Media and Broadcasting Firdous Ashiq Awan in the contempt of court notices for 3 days.
Chief Justice Athar Minallah heard the contempt cases against Firdous Ashiq Awan.
Awan appealed the court to withdraw a contempt of court notice against her. She also submitted a written response in the same case.
In the response, Awan took a stance that she made remarks against court and judges unintentionally.

While ending the hearing, the court adjourned the hearing till 14th November and directed that the private TV program’s transcript be brought to the court record.
On 29th October, Awan held a press conference where she remarked that the IHC’s decision an open a floodgate of similar requests by prisoners suffering from various diseases.
In this regard, the IHC issued a notice to Awan under Section 3 of the Contempt of Court Ordinance, 2003, according to which she maligned the court while giving a statement that the hearing of a petition on the release of former premier Nawaz Sharif was a special dispensation.
