GUJRANWALA: Ousted Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan said on Wednesday that a “sea of people” including families of army and police personnel would soon enter Islamabad and sweep Shehbaz’s government away.

Addressing his party public rally in  Gujranwala, he said that families of army personnel will also take part in his upcoming march to Islamabad to remove the “imported government that came to power through a US-backed conspiracy”.

“The police will also help you [in getting to Islamabad]. They will send their family members with you and government employees will [do the same] as well.

“And I know my army’s families will also come with us to Islamabad,” he added.

Imran said he would unveil the date of his long march during a rally in Multan on May 20 (Friday). The PTI chief hoped he would win the “fight for real independence in Islamabad this month”.

Imran called on women, children, and the elderly to participate in the march. He said he was calling the people to Islamabad to foil the “American conspiracy” and send a message to all the conspirators that Pakistan was a “free nation.”

“This isn’t politics, this is a revolution,” Imran said, adding that the “biggest dacoits and mafias” of the country were standing on one side and the nation on the other.

Imran said PM Shehbaz and PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif were “trapped”. “There is an ocean in front of them and Imran Khan is standing behind them.”

He claimed that the PML-N’s time was up and a “sea of people” would soon enter Islamabad and sweep them away.

Imran said the  Shehbaz Sharif would not be able to escape the cases against him in the Federal Investigation Agency. “As soon as you go [from the prime minister’s seat], the investigation will start and we will take money from you and throw you in jail,” he added.

“An elected government was toppled by uniting notorious dacoits of the country through a conspiracy hatched by the United States (US). There is always a conspiracy before the interference. They think that sweets will be distributed when a prime minister is removed. The nation took to the streets after their prime minister was ousted by the conspiracy.”

He thanked overseas Pakistanis for sending over $31 billion in remittances, whereas, the highest revenue collection was recorded during the PTI-led government. “We have reduced the prices of petrol and diesel besides reducing the inflation.”

“Shehbaz Sharif has worked hard. [Pakistan People’s Party co-chairman] Asif Ali Zardari is so happy these days as he successfully diverts public criticism towards the ruling Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N).”

PTI Chairman said that he neither bowed before anyone in a servile manner nor will let the people of Pakistan do that. Khan commented on his ouster and said that the office of the prime minister had no value before his eyes.

He also said that his government helped the farmers and they benefitted the most during the PTI government.

“During the COVID-19 pandemic, our country prospered with the increase in the employment rate,” he said, adding that “these thieves ousted our government when our country was heading towards its betterment”.

Berating the Sharif brothers, the PTI chairman said: “Shehbaz Sharif is asking what to do after becoming the prime minister. He said that inflation is rising and foreign exchange is tumbling. The two brothers (Shehbaz and Nawaz Sharif) are now trapped and they are wondering what to do.”

He said that Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz might no longer be in his position after the apex court’s decision.

The PTI chief said that Pakistan’s industries flourished under his government’s tenure and most industries were established in Pakistan after former president Ayub Khan’s era.

“When our nation was heading towards prosperity they (current government) toppled our government. Shehbaz Sharif polished the shoes of American ambassadors.”

Imran also said that Pakistan’s biggest thieves and mafia leaders have banded together but thanked the Almighty as the nation has risen and stood up against them. “These mafias that suck the blood of the nation will receive their comeuppance,” he concluded.
