The total volume of bilateral trade between Pakistan and the South American states increased more during the current financial year as compared to the previous financial year.
According to a private news agency, in the first eight months of the current financial year, Pakistan’s exports to South American states have increased by 62.13% and their imports by 65.30%.
According to the data released in the report, in the first eight months of the current financial year, Pakistan’s exports to South American states including Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay were recorded at $242.28 million which is 62.13% more than the same period of the previous financial year.
Exports to South American states were recorded at $149.43 million in the same period last fiscal year. Subsequently, in February 2022, exports to South American states were recorded at $28.12 million, up 34.46 percent in January and $18.81 million in February last year. was done. In fiscal year 2021, Pakistan’s exports to South American countries were recorded at $256.93 million.

It may be recalled that the volume of imports from South American countries was recorded at $65.26 million in February 2022 as against $25.25 million in February last year. In fiscal year 2021, the volume of imports from South America was recorded at $897.66 million.
On the other hand, economists say that the increase in trade volume between the South American states and Pakistan is welcome as the South American market has always been a welcome place for Pakistani traders and there is room for further improvement if the authorities above.
