KARACHI: Prevention and Control Program for Dengue (PCPD) Sindh has registered 37 more dengue fever cases across the province during a week out of which 35 were reported in metropolis and two in other districts.
According to PCPD data 35, dengue fever cases were detected from different areas of the metropolis during a week, and the reported cases reached 297 in the current year.
In the first month of the year, a total of 74 dengue positive cases emerged across Sindh province out of the 64 were confirmed from Karachi and 10 from other districts so far, according to PCPD data.
In 2020, a total of 326 dengue cases suffices in the province to date; out of which 297 in metropolis and 29 from other districts.
Earlier, February 10, Sindh Health Department confirmed the first dengue death of the year 2020 at a private hospital in Karachi.
Sources at Sindh Health Department had told that a 35-year old woman died of dengue fever at a private hospital of the metropolis.
