A shocking case of animal cruelty has emerged from Kot Mithan’s Bait Sontra area in Rajanpur District, where a landlord allegedly cut off a cow’s leg after it entered his farmland, according to media reports.
Police officials said two suspects, angered by the animal straying into their crops, attacked it with a sharp weapon, leaving the cow critically injured.
Rescue teams reached the scene shortly after receiving information and provided immediate medical treatment, including first aid and bandaging to stabilize the animal.
Authorities have taken notice of the incident, registering a case against the two accused. One suspect has been arrested, while efforts are underway to apprehend the second.
Animal rights activists have condemned the act, calling for strict enforcement of cruelty laws and stronger protections for animals.
This is not an isolated case. Last year, police in Sukkur had arrested two suspects for chopping off the leg of a camel in Sukkur district for venturing into a field.
In 2024, a local landlord in Sindh’s Sanghar district allegedly chopped off a camel’s leg as punishment for daring to venture into his field, according to officials.
