An alleged leak of an A-Level mathematics paper has raised concerns among students in Karachi during the ongoing May–June examination session conducted by Cambridge International Education.
According to details, the AS Mathematics Paper 1 (Code 9707 – Pure Mathematics 1) was reportedly leaked online hours before the exam, which was held on Wednesday afternoon across Pakistan and the region.
Local media reports claim that the question paper first appeared in an unsolved form late Tuesday night, before a solved version was also circulated on social media platform Reddit.
Students alleged that the solved paper was initially being sold online and later spread widely through messaging apps, including WhatsApp.
One affected student said the leak caused anxiety among candidates who had prepared for the exam through legitimate means.
Under Cambridge regulations, question papers are not supposed to leave examination centers, as students write directly on the paper itself. However, an unidentified individual online claimed responsibility for the leak and threatened to release more papers if action was not taken.
It is worth noting that last year, Cambridge also reported partial leaks of several AS and A-Level papers across Pakistan, highlighting ongoing concerns over exam security.
