A 15-year-old ninth-grade student, Kanza Mehndi Hassan, who had fallen from the fourth floor of a private school in Orangi Town, Karachi, has died after succumbing to her injuries during treatment at a private hospital.
According to initial details, the incident occurred on April 21 in the Gabol Colony area of Orangi Town, where the student reportedly fell from the fourth floor of her school building and sustained critical injuries.
She was immediately shifted for medical care and remained under treatment for several days before passing away.
The deceased, who was studying in the ninth grade, had been enrolled in the same school since grade six and had recently completed her eighth-grade examinations. Following her death, the body was shifted for legal formalities.
Police officials said that procedural action is underway and a case will be registered after the completion of the medical report.
Initially, authorities were informed that the girl had fallen from the stairs, and she was first taken to Qatar Hospital Karachi, then moved to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, followed by Civil Hospital Karachi before being admitted to a private hospital.
However, during the course of investigation, it was later revealed that she had fallen from the fourth floor of the building rather than from the stairs. Authorities are continuing to probe the circumstances surrounding the incident.
