The government has approved the start of mango exports for the 2026 season from June 1, following consultations with stakeholders and a review by a committee formed under the Export Policy Order 2022.
The decision aims to address industry concerns over fruit ripening, shelf life, and improving competitiveness in global markets.
The decision was taken by a committee formed under the Export Policy Order 2022, which reviewed concerns raised by exporters and other stakeholders before approving the revised export schedule.
As per the notification, mango exports for the current crop will begin from June 1, 2026, while all other terms and conditions under the Export Policy Order 2022 will remain unchanged.
The letter, issued by Section Officer (Export-II) Muhammad Ijaz, has been circulated to the Federal Board of Revenue, the Ministry of National Food Security, and the All Pakistan Fruit and Vegetable Exporters, Importers and Merchants Association, along with other key stakeholders.
Industry representatives had urged the government to revise the export timeframe to ensure proper fruit ripening, improve shelf life, and enhance competitiveness in international markets.
