LAHORE: The Punjab Home Department announced on Sunday that the province‑wide prohibition on flying drones in open spaces under Section 144 has been extended for 30 days and will remain in effect until May 25.
The extension, the department said, was issued in light of security concerns. The order continues a complete ban on outdoor drone operations across Punjab; however, limited use of small drones will be permitted for events held inside enclosed venues such as halls and marquees. Organizers of such indoor events will be held responsible for ensuring the safe use of drones within those spaces.
Intelligence and law‑enforcement agencies are exempted from the restriction. The Home Department instructed the provincial administration and police to strictly enforce the orders, citing public safety, maintenance of peace and order, and protection of property as the government’s primary priorities.
