RAWALPINDI: A madrasa teacher was arrested on Monday following allegations of brutally torturing a 10-year-old student and illegally detaining him over a torn cap in the jurisdiction of Sadar Police Station.
The incident came to light after the victim’s father lodged a complaint, prompting immediate action by the local police. According to the First Information Report (FIR), the teacher subjected the child to severe physical abuse using a plastic pipe and held him in unlawful custody.
Sadar Police registered a case against the accused and swiftly took him into custody. A medical examination of the affected student has since been conducted to document the injuries sustained during the assault.
Speaking on the matter, Superintendent of Police (SP) Sadar Anam Sher condemned the act, stating, “Violence against children is not acceptable under any circumstances. Children are the future of this nation, and their protection is the responsibility of all of us.”
The police have launched a thorough investigation into the incident, with the accused currently in custody.
