KARACHI: Gold prices in Pakistan registered a modest increase on Monday, reflecting the impact of interbank exchange rate movements and steady international bullion trends.
According to figures released by the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association, the price of 24‑karat gold per tola rose by Rs. 800 to settle at Rs. 493,962, while 10 grams of 24‑karat gold climbed Rs. 686 to Rs. 423,492. The rate for 22‑karat gold per 10 grams stood at Rs. 388,215, up Rs. 629 from the previous session.
On the global front, international gold prices edged up to $4,716 per ounce, marking an $8 increase. Analysts note that the slight uptick reflects cautious investor sentiment amid currency fluctuations and geopolitical uncertainty.
Silver prices, however, remained unchanged. The rate of 24‑karat silver per tola held steady at Rs8,049, while 10 grams of silver stayed at Rs6,900. International silver prices also remained flat at $75.65 per ounce.
Market observers suggest that the stability in silver and the mild rise in gold may encourage selective buying in local markets, particularly among investors seeking safe‑haven assets. Jewelers expect consumer demand to remain steady, with wedding season purchases providing underlying support.
