Cement retail prices recorded a decline across the country during the past week, according to data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.
For the week ending April 23, the average retail price of cement in northern cities and regions stood at Rs1,535 per bag, reflecting a decrease of 0.84% compared to the previous week, when the average price was Rs1,548 per bag.
Similarly, in southern parts of the country, the average price was recorded at Rs1,542 per bag, down 0.13% from Rs1,544 in the preceding week.
City-wise data shows that average cement prices per bag during the week were Rs1,541 in Islamabad, Rs1,522 in Rawalpindi, Rs1,550 in Gujranwala and Sialkot, Rs1,582 in Lahore, Rs1,510 in Faisalabad, Rs1,542 in Sargodha, Rs1,536 in Multan, Rs1,583 in Bahawalpur, Rs1,516 in Peshawar, and Rs1,450 in Bannu.
In southern cities, prices averaged Rs1,461 in Karachi, Rs1,520 in Hyderabad, Rs1,600 in Sukkur, Rs1,513 in Larkana, Rs1,490 in Quetta, and Rs1,667 in Khuzdar.
