Islamabad: Federal Information Minister Atta Tarar has stated that India promotes terrorism, while Pakistan is actively combating it.
Addressing a press conference regarding Operation *Bunyan-un-Marsoos*, the minister said Pakistan had given a strong response to what he described as baseless allegations from India. He noted that the prime minister had presented Pakistan’s clear stance on the Pahalgam incident and had offered an impartial investigation into the matter.
Tarar said that following the offer for an investigation, Pakistan received international support. He added that the prime minister, in a “historic address,” emphasised ending the blame game, reiterating that Pakistan is fighting terrorism whereas India is fostering it.
He further claimed that the roots of terrorism in Pakistan are linked to India, asserting that Pakistan stands as a “solid wall” against terrorism. According to him, India neither condemns terrorist incidents nor expresses regret over them.
The minister also accused India of using water as a weapon and said that the Pakistani armed forces and the public are fully prepared to respond to any aggression. He maintained that Pakistan has a clear policy against terrorism and that its position has been vindicated before the world.
He added that groups such as the BLA and TTP have links to India, while Pakistan’s defence capabilities have grown stronger. He further claimed that no country is willing to accept India’s narrative.
Tarar said Pakistan had responded firmly to Indian aggression and that India has not replied to Pakistan’s offer for an investigation. He also expressed sympathy with the victims of the Pahalgam incident.
