The Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has resumed gas production from the Jand-1 well located in Attock.
According to an official statement, the Jand-1 well is now producing 21 million cubic feet of gas per day. The well was initially brought into production in 2019 through the Dakhni Gas Processing Plant.
However, operations were later suspended due to technical issues caused by high levels of corrosive gas and challenging underground conditions.
The statement said production had been halted after the technical fault developed, but a team of OGDCL experts successfully completed a rehabilitation plan following a detailed risk analysis.
During the operation, underground equipment was safely retrieved and the well structure was restored. For long-term protection, special anti-corrosion tubing was also installed in the well.
OGDCL said that the restoration of the Jand-1 well will contribute to increasing the country’s indigenous gas production, helping strengthen the domestic energy supply.
