MUMBAI: Akshay Kumar’s fantasy horror-comedy Bhooth Bangla, directed by Priyadarshan and released April 16, 2026, has delivered a robust box-office performance in its opening week, emerging as the third highest‑grossing Bollywood release of 2026 in India after six days.

India net (Day 7 live range, April 23) stands at approximately 78.90–90.00 crore, with first-week closure expected near 90–100 crore. Day 6 finalized trends show about 6–6.15 crore from 11,584 shows at 13% occupancy; early estimates place Day 6 between 6.5–7.5 crore, a 19–30% dip from Day 5’s 9.30 crore, while positive word‑of‑mouth has aided weekday holds. Overseas gross has reached 33.50 crore, contributing to worldwide momentum that positions Bhooth Bangla behind Dhurandhar 2 and Border 2 in 2026 box‑office standings. The six-day India net total is around 89.55–90.55 crore, including paid previews.

The detailed India net breakdown across the opening days is: paid previews 4.00 crore; Day 1 14.31 crore; Day 2 21.74 crore; Day 3 25.60 crore; Day 4 8.10 crore; Day 5 9.30 crore; Day 6 6.5–7.5 crore. The film has surpassed O’Romeo in India net through six days and is closing in on the 100‑crore club.

Industry tracker Bollywood Hungama projects a lifetime India net of 138–148 crore, with a likely outcome near 143 crore based on first‑week trends toward 96–98 crore and estimated second‑week collections of 28–36 crore. With a production budget of 120 crore, Bhooth Bangla is on track to reach profitability by its second weekend if current holds continue.

Day 7 final numbers were not available at the time of filing this report on Thursday.
