A petrol pump owner was robbed of Rs7.5 million at gunpoint near the New Sabzi Mandi gate in Karachi and was seriously injured during the attack.
CCTV footage shows two armed men on a motorcycle intercepting the victim’s car, shooting him in the leg, and fleeing with the cash. The injured man was taken to a hospital, where he is receiving treatment.
The incident comes amid a surge in brazen street crimes across the city, including large-scale robberies on major roads.
On April 12, 2026, around 15 armed suspects reportedly set up a makeshift checkpoint on a bridge, barricading traffic and looting dozens of commuters at gunpoint.
In a separate incident, six armed motorcyclists intercepted a bus in Shah Faisal Colony, robbing more than 60 factory workers of their mobile phones and cash.
