Pakistani-flagged oil tankers have successfully crossed the Strait of Hormuz despite heightened tensions between Iran and the United States, as well as the reported US blockade.
According to reports, the oil tanker Shalamar, carrying approximately 440,000 barrels of crude oil, has completed the crossing.
The vessel departed from Abu Dhabi and is en route to Karachi, where it is expected to arrive on 19 April.
Meanwhile, the International Energy Agency has warned that ongoing tensions in the Strait of Hormuz could inflict significant economic damage worldwide, with energy production in the Middle East potentially taking up to two years to fully recover.
According to the agency’s chief, some countries may require more time than others to restore oil production.
For instance, Iraq is expected to take longer to recover compared to Saudi Arabia, while other nations may also face varying recovery timelines.
