A Sindh police official attempted self-immolation in Jamshed Road area of Karachi on Thursday. He has been admitted to hospital in critical condition.
According to police, the incident took place in Karachi’s Jamshed Road area, where a police officer allegedly poured petrol on himself and set himself on fire inside his house.
Police said that the injured officer was shifted to the hospital, and further investigations into the incident are underway.
This is not the first time a Karachi cop tried to burn himself alive. In 2021, 45-year-old Sub-Inspector Muzaffar Chandio committed self-immolation in front of the Central Police Office.
Muzaffar Chandio reportedly reached the Central Police Office on I.I Chandrigar Road. He wanted to go to the concerned officer for some problem but before that he had brought the petrol with him. He sprinkled and set himself on fire.
