US President Donald Trump has indicated that Pakistan is the preferred venue for the next round of negotiations with Iran, while praising the performance of Field Marshal Asim Munir.
Speaking to a reporter from the New York Post, Trump suggested that developments could take place within the next two days and said the United States was inclined towards holding talks in Pakistan.
He noted that Pakistan was a likely choice for negotiations, stating that the Field Marshal was “doing an excellent job”.
Trump added that it was due to Asim Munir’s performance that Washington is considering returning to Pakistan for further talks.
According to the report, Trump initially denied that a US delegation would travel to Pakistan for negotiations, but later contacted the reporter again to indicate the possibility of a future round of talks in the country.
Reports are circulating that another round of US–Iran negotiations may soon take place in Islamabad.
