The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has introduced a new facility to make the renewal of Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs) more convenient for citizens.
According to the latest announcement, individuals whose CNICs have expired within the last five years can now renew their cards through the Pak ID mobile application.
Earlier, this facility was limited to cards that had expired within one year, but NADRA has now extended the eligibility period to five years to facilitate the public.
The initiative aims to reduce the need for in-person visits to NADRA centers and streamline the renewal process through digital means.
Authorities have advised citizens to take advantage of this facility before June 30, 2026, to avoid any potential additional fees or penalties that may apply after the deadline.
The move has been welcomed as a step toward improving digital services and easing access to essential identification services for citizens across Pakistan.
