More than 500 people are feared dead after the Israeli military carried out what it described as around 100 air strikes on multiple locations across Lebanon within just 10 minutes.
According to Al Jazeera, the strikes were launched without warning, at a time when there was widespread confusion in Lebanon over whether the regional ceasefire applied to the country. Authorities say the attacks have resulted in hundreds of casualties, including both fatalities and injuries. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had previously stated that Lebanon would not be covered by the ceasefire.
Meanwhile, Iran has warned it may withdraw from the US-brokered ceasefire agreement if Israel continues strikes on Lebanon, Tasnim reported, citing an informed source.

A senior Iranian official told Al Jazeera Iran will “punish Israel” for strikes in Lebanon and ceasefire violations, warning the truce applies across the region.
The official added Israel “is known for breaking its pledges” and said “nothing will deter it except bullets,” signaling a potential military response if attacks continue.

Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that reported violations “across the conflict zone … undermine the spirit of the peace process.”
“I earnestly urge all parties to exercise restraint and to respect the ceasefire for the agreed two-week period, so diplomacy can take the lead in resolving the conflict peacefully,” he wrote on X.
He also confirmed that US and Iranian delegations are expected to arrive in Pakistan for talks on Friday. However, there are conflicting reports about the participants.
Reuters, citing two unnamed Pakistani officials, reported that US Vice President JD Vance may lead the American delegation and is expected to meet Iran’s parliamentary speaker and foreign minister in Islamabad.
