The army’s top commanders on Tuesday strongly condemned attacks on Saudi Arabia’s energy infrastructure amid the ongoing US‑Israeli war with Iran, describing them as an “unnecessary escalation,” according to the military’s media affairs wing.
According to ISPR, the 274th Corps Commanders Conference was held under the chairmanship of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir.
The ISPR said that the forum strongly condemned the recent attacks on Saudi Arabia’s petrochemical and industrial complexes, expressing concern that Iran’s strikes on Saudi Arabia are undermining sincere efforts to resolve the conflict through peaceful means.
Despite serious provocations, Saudi Arabia has so far shown restraint and caution, paving the way for mediation and diplomatic solutions.
The Corps Commanders said that the attacks on Saudi Arabia constitute an unnecessary escalation, and that such attacks and unwarranted aggression seriously undermine ongoing peaceful efforts and a conducive environment.
The ISPR further said that the Chief of Defence Staff appreciated the armed forces’ unwavering professional competence, while the Army Chief commended operational performance and steadfastness in counterterrorism operations, grounded in sustainable intelligence, for the defense of the homeland.
