Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah said that transport fares will not increase in the province.
Addressing a press conference, Sindh’s chief minister said the federal government will provide Rs100,000 and the Sindh government Rs200,000 for buses, and everyone was agreed to this offer.
Be it bus or minibus, efforts are being made to ensure that fares of all four categories do not increase, Murad Ali Shah said.
He said Sindh will provide a subsidy of Rs 14 billion, and the decision of targeted subsidy is to help the poor, but the federation has not agreed on all matters.
Syed Murad Ali Shah said those who called for protests will also be taken into confidence.
Earlier, an important meeting was held on subsidies which was chaired by Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah.
Senior provincial ministers Sharjeel Memon, Nasir Hussain Shah, Mukesh Chawla, the chief secretary, the mayor of Karachi and other officials attended.
The Sindh Chief Minister said that relief has been given to the people due to the rising prices of petrol.
He said the aim of giving the package to transporters is not to increase the fares, and citizens should cooperate and understand the problems, and they themselves will have to adopt simplicity.
He added that saving electricity, gas and petrol is very important.
