Police in Karachi have arrested 16 men and 5 women during a raid on an alleged obscene dance party.
According to details, Darakhshan Police acted on a tip-off and carried out an operation at a café club located in DHA Phase 6, Chhota Nishat Commercial, Lane 4, where the event was taking place.
Officials said loud music was being played while inappropriate dancing was ongoing, and the use of sheesha and hookah, considered harmful to health, was also observed.
During the raid, 21 individuals were taken into custody, while a woman identified as Farwa and several others managed to escape.
Police stated that the suspects were arrested for engaging in indecent activities, dancing to loud music and using sheesha. Authorities also seized three sheesha units, 11 different flavours and a large speaker from the premises.
A case has been registered against the accused under relevant sections of the Pakistan Penal Code and the Sound System Ordinance 2015.
