At least six people have died in rain and windstorms across Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with officials warning that conditions may worsen as a new spell of bad weather approaches.
The Met Office has forecast widespread rain, thunderstorms and strong winds over the coming week due to a western disturbance expected to persist until April 9.
In KP, four deaths were reported in Khyber district, along with multiple injuries in Mohmand, Bannu, Karak and Bajaur. Authorities also issued flood warnings for low-lying areas near the Kabul and Budhni rivers. In Punjab, two people died in roof collapses in Sargodha and Chiniot, while several others were injured in different districts.
Heavy rainfall has raised concerns about flooding, infrastructure damage and crop losses. Murree recorded the highest rainfall, and more rain and hailstorms are expected. Snowfall in parts of Balochistan has also damaged orchards.
Nationwide, authorities have urged caution as risks of floods, landslides and storm-related damage remain high.
