According to details, LPG distributors fear a sharp increase of Rs90 to Rs100 per kilogram, which could push the price up to Rs500 per kg.
The LPG Distributors Association has warned consumers that the price of domestic cylinders could rise by up to Rs1,000, while commercial cylinders may increase to Rs4,500 due to higher international prices.
Economists believe that a rise in LPG and cylinder prices could trigger a fresh wave of inflation, potentially placing LPG beyond the reach of lower-income households.
It is noteworthy that LPG prices in the international market have climbed to $238, and the domestic market is being directly affected by global price trends.
The association has urged the government to formulate an effective strategy to protect consumers from a potential LPG crisis.
