K-Electric (KE) has appointed Syed Muhammad Taha as its new chief executive officer (CEO), the company announced in a notice to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Monday. Taha will assume the role, replacing interim CEO Adeeb Ahmad, effective 15 April 2026.
Taha’s appointment comes amid recent changes in K-Electric’s leadership, following the resignation of former CEO Moonis Alvi.
Taha holds an engineering degree and an MBA in Finance from the Institute of Business Administration, Karachi. He has extensive leadership experience in the energy sector, having served as the managing director and CEO of Pakistan State Oil Company Limited (PSO) since February 2020.
Before his tenure at PSO, Taha worked as an executive director at Oasis Energy and led the Program Management Office of Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company in Nigeria.
He also previously served as Chief Distribution Officer at K-Electric and has held several senior positions across different organizations, including Shell Pakistan and Caltex Pakistan (a Chevron company), as well as gaining experience in the steel industry.
