The Sindh government has declared a public holiday across the province on March 23 in observance of Pakistan Day.
According to an official notification issued by the provincial government, all government offices, educational institutions, and other public sector departments will remain closed on the occasion.
Pakistan Day is celebrated annually on March 23 to commemorate the historic Lahore Resolution passed in 1940.
It is worth mentioning that this year’s Pakistan Day likely to fall on the third day of Eidul Fitr. Earlier SUPARCO announced that the Shawwal moon will be approximately 12 hours and 41 minutes old at sunset on March 19, making its sighting unlikely on Thursday evening.
Authorities have scheduled the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee meeting in Islamabad to officially verify the moon, with Eidul Fitr expected to be observed on March 21.
According to the SUPARCO, the Shawwal moon will be born at 6:23 AM on March 19.
