Iran has warned that it could target economic centers and banks linked to the United States and Israel across the Middle East. Iranian media described the threat as a response to an attack that reportedly targeted an Iranian bank.
Ebrahim Zolfaghari, spokesperson for Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Joint Command, said the United States and the “Zionist regime,” after failing to achieve their objectives, had now targeted a bank.
He said that this action had compelled Iran to consider targeting economic centers and banks associated with the United States and Israel in the region. He further said that Washington and Tel Aviv should now expect a strong retaliatory response from Iran.
Iranian officials also warned people in the region to stay at least one kilometer away from banks in order to avoid harm in case of any potential action.
Earlier, Iranian authorities had repeatedly stressed that Iran would retaliate for attacks against it by striking military bases in the region from where the United States and Israel allegedly launched attacks on Iran.
Meanwhile, the U.S. Department of Defense (Pentagon) has claimed that around 140 American soldiers have been injured so far in the conflict with Iran. Earlier, the Pentagon had also confirmed the deaths of seven U.S. soldiers.
According to Pentagon spokesperson Sean Parnell, most of the injured personnel sustained minor injuries, and 108 soldiers have already recovered and returned to duty.
