Pakistani security forces in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa carried out five intelligence-based counter-terrorism operations on March 6 and 7, eliminating 13 militants belonging to the Indian-backed Fitna-ul-Khawarij, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

During an operation in the Bajaur region, intense gunfire exchanged resulted in the deaths of five militants, while three more were killed during two separate encounters in Bannu and Dera Ismail Khan.

More clashes in Khyber and South Waziristan led to the deaths of five more militants.

Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the deceased militants, who were reported to have been involved in multiple terror activities across the region.

ISPR emphasised that these operations were conducted as a part of Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to address emerging security challenges along the Afghanistan border.

The security forces remain committed to defending the country’s borders and are determined to eliminate militants operating under foreign sponsorship.

Operations under the codename “Azm-e-Istehkam” will continue until terrorism, particularly that backed by foreign entities, is completely eradicated.

Authorities stated that counter-terrorism efforts will persist, targeting all networks involved in cross-border terrorism until the threat is removed from the region.
