Foreign currency rates in Pakistan on March 8, 2026

The Pakistani rupee posted a slight gain against the US dollar in the inter-bank market on Friday.

At the close of trading, the local currency settled at 279.40 against the greenback, appreciating by Rs0.01. On Thursday, the rupee had ended the session at 279.41.

Meanwhile, the US dollar remained largely stable in early Asian trading on Friday and was on track for its biggest weekly rise in over a year, as escalating tensions in the Middle East boosted demand for safe-haven assets.
