Three people died following drinking toxic liquor in Rizvia Society in Nazimabad, Karachi, it emerged on Monday.
Six individuals are currently receiving medical treatment after allegedly consuming toxic, locally brewed liquor, according to a police statement. All of the victims are residents of North Nazimabad No.1 and nearby neighborhoods.
Police confirmed the arrest of a suspect linked to the case. During the operation, officers recovered 16 small bottles and three large bottles of illicit liquor from the suspect’s possession.
A formal case has been registered, and further raids are underway. Authorities from Rizvia Society Police indicated that the liquor had been sourced from multiple locations.
Sindh Inspector General Javed Alam Odho took immediate notice of the incident and sought a detailed report from the Central district SSP.
He ordered a transparent and thorough investigation, directing officials to identify all those responsible and initiate strict legal proceedings.
