Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has held a series of diplomatic contacts with American, European and Middle Eastern leaders amid rising tensions in the region, discussing the evolving situation in detail.
According to Turkish media, President Erdoğan spoke with Donald Trump about developments concerning Iran, urging that differences be resolved through dialogue rather than war.
He also held talks with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, warning that escalating tensions would have serious repercussions for all countries in the region.
Erdoğan stressed the need for serious intervention to reduce hostilities, and both Turkey and Saudi Arabia agreed to intensify diplomatic efforts.
Turkish media further reported that Erdoğan expressed solidarity with the Emir of Qatar over the Iranian attacks, and also spoke with the President of the United Arab Emirates and the UAE Crown Prince. In addition, he held discussions with Ursula von der Leyen and the Emir of Kuwait regarding the regional situation.
